Fall Decor Ideas

With temperatures in the sunshine state finally beginning to dip below eighty degrees, more than ever this year it is beginning to feel like fall. Along with cozy sweaters and pumpkin spice lattes, this season calls for a shift in your typical décor. Living in a state where most trees will not be changing colors, what better way is there to make every day feel like autumn than adding those warm red, orange, yellow and brown tones to your home? Here are a few simple, inexpensive ways to spice up your house for the season.

A Faux Wreath

While traditionally thought of as a Christmas decoration, in recent years wreaths have become a staple of fall décor. Similar to its Christmas counterpart, the style of a fall wreath is truly timeless. This is why I always recommend a faux wreath made of synthetic plant-pieces. This decoration must is not only trendy now, but will be for many years to come, so you want one that will last.

Pumpkins

This might seem a bit obvious, but many see pumpkins as an exclusively Halloween decoration. These people are clearly forgetting about pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving. Having a pumpkin by your doorstep, or even indoors, is an incredibly inexpensive and lovely fall addition. Small pumpkins make excellent additions to any centerpiece or side table. This is such a simple thing to get a hold of, the possibilities are truly endless. Along with this, when the pumpkin begins to turn, you can still harvest the seeds to make a delicious, baked snack, making every penny spent absolutely worth it.

Candles

Imagine walking into a room filled with the sweet scent of pumpkin pie or the crisp small of apple cinnamon. While your mouth may begin to water, there is no baking required. All you need is a candle. Candles have the ability to transform any room into an experience. Every time you light a candle is an opportunity to escape into another world. In my perfect world, it is always fall. I personally use this time of year to stock up on autumn-scented candles so even on the hottest summer days I can close my eyes and remember a time when the heat index was not over 100 degrees. Plus we all know that Bath and Body works is always having a sale.

Gather your wreath, pick up some pumpkins, and light a cinnamon scented candle. Snuggle under a warm blanket with loved ones and your favorite fall flavored drink in hand and you might be able to imagine the leaves changing colors. I hope you found these easy decorating tips helpful, and Happy Fall Y’all.
