Must Visit Gardens

The weather has been absolutely perfect as of recent, and therefore, before the summer heat really hits, now is the perfect time to spend time in the great outdoors. There are so many benefits to getting some fresh air, such as improved mental and physical health. Along with this, outdoor activities seem to be one of the most COVID-19 safe options for socialization available for the time being. Obviously, being Sarasota is a beach town, you know that you can go to the beach to soak up some sun. However, you do not always want to do get your car filled with sand or make the lengthy drive depending on where you live. Here I present you some equally beautiful options to explore that are not the beach, I hope you enjoy!

The John and Mable Ringling Bayfront Gardens

When most think of John and Mable Ringling, they think of their infamous Museum or Art or simply just the circus. That being said, a local gem that not everyone has visited, or even knows about, is the John and Mable Ringling Bayfront Gardens. These gardens contain several stunning features, such as the Rose Garden and Secret Garden. Tickets range from $10-$15 for tours and can be purchased either online at https://www.ringling.org/bayfront-gardens or at the entry to the gardens. That being said, there is also a free option. You are welcome to walk around grounds of the museum for no charge, you just cannot enter into the buildings. The landscape surrounding the museum is beautiful and is alone worth the trip.

Marie Selby Botanical Gardens

This is my personal favorite, as is it my two daughters. My husband and I enjoy walking around the Gardens while my two daughters enjoy finding the perfect spot to pose for a picture with floral backgrounds. Words cannot describe how beautiful this place is, and it is truly something the entire family will enjoy. If you go, you have to see the orchids that they have on display. Tickets range from $10-$25 dollars, so while it is a bit pricier than the Ringling Bayfront Gardens, I must say it is worth every penny. Tickets can be purchased online at https://selby.org/dsc/visit-downtown-sarasota-campus/ or at the gardens.
